Events

This year’s Warrior Weekend will focus solely on the Capt. Joseph J. Boccia Jr. USMC 4-Mile Warrior Run as part of The Suffolk County Veteran Run Series. The race is participation-based and will serve to publicize all series races in the hopes of increasing turnout for all associated events. The goal is to make each participating race as successful as it possibly can be, thereby making the biggest positive impact for our local veterans. Those who run and/or volunteer in seven out of eight races in the Series will receive a participation medal. Challenge Coins will be presented to qualifying participants in January 2018 at a special ceremony which will include their family and members of each race committee. During the 22 weeks leading up to the 4th Warrior Weekend, Cow Harbor Warriors will have a succession of awareness activities and fund raising events designed to publicize not only the Cow Harbor Warrior Weekend, but, more importantly, the reasons why it is so incredibly necessary to hold this event – including letting the public know about issues affecting veterans.
